The money was given by the Mansfield District Council Business Grants Scheme to PR agency, Dakota Digital and Wedding HQ.

Dakota Digital was given £3,000 to cover the cost of a relocation into the town which created two new jobs and the remaining £1,000 went to help the Pleasley-based wedding company get off the ground.

Lauren Troman-Green, who runs The Wedding HQ with sister-in-law Suzie Troman-Green, said: “We’re so grateful for this financial boost. As with most businesses starting out, there are massive financial outlays to be made at the outset.

“We were faced with costs ranging from shop fixtures to the purchase of our extensive wedding gown collections and design of our website.”

The Business Start Up grant of up to £1,000 is available to people who are looking to set up a business. The grant can be used towards start-up costs including the purchase of machinery and equipment, business stationery and marketing costs such as advertising and web design.

Dakota Digital was awarded with a Business Growth Grant, which is available to established businesses that can produce a viable growth plan. The grant can be used to support its growth plan and costs involved in implementing the plan.

The Business Growth Grant has helped Dakota Digital to finance their move from a business centre to their own dedicated town centre office on White Hart Street as well as expand their team with two new members.

Rebecca Appleton, Dakota Digital managing director, said: “I’m thrilled that we have been chosen to receive a business growth grant, which shows how well we are doing.

“It’s a real vote of confidence for our expansion. We had outgrown our old office with the addition of new staff so the support of the Business Growth Scheme has been really key.”

Councillor Dave Saunders, portfolio holder for regeneration, said: “We’re pleased that we’ve been able to support these growing companies as they go from strength to strength.
