Katie, who worked an NHS nurse for more than 40 years, used her experience to address the seriousness of the issues and the importance of love and support in fighting them. She said: “I wrote Alice to reflect the struggles of many women in circumstances beyond their control – who in their twenties saw themselves with a long and happy future ahead of them, but the reality is these aspirations and dreams are shattered when the family unit is broken up.”

Alice is available on Amazon, Waterstones and all leading bookstores.
