Mansfield and district crime report for the week to February 1, sent on behalf of Mansfield District Commander Nick Butler.

Crimes reported over the past 7 days, 12:00 1st February – 12:00 8th February 2018.

Berry Hill

Burglary dwelling:

In the early hours of Tuesday morning two male offenders were witnessed attempting to enter a house on Parkland Close and a garage on that street. A crow bar was used but the offenders were disturbed and entry was not gained.

The garage of an unoccupied property on Parkland Close was broken into at an exact time and date not known. The padlock of the garage, which was empty, had been broken off.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning the garage to a house on North Park was entered after the door was forced open. A number of tools were stolen.

Theft from a motor vehicle:

Overnight on Sunday two cars parked on Sapphire Street were entered, nothing was taken. On the same night a car parked on Arches Road was also entered and loose change and a mobile phone were taken. A car parked on Paddock Close was entered and loose change taken. There was no sign of forced entry in any of the incidents.

On Sunday morning a car parked on a driveway on Forest Road was entered and an Ipod taken from the boot.

In the early hours of Monday morning a car parked on Heathfield Way was entered, nothing appears to have been taken. There was no sign of forced entry.

In the early hours of Thursday 8th two males were seen entering a car parked on Diamond Court, they left the scene on bicycles. There was no sign of forced entry and nothing was taken. On the same morning two males were also seen at another incident, on Murray Street. The bonnet, lights and the radiator were stolen from the vehicle.

Broomhill

Burglary dwelling:

On Friday morning a resident of Drayton Avenue returned to his property to find that an offender had entered and stolen an Ipad, a small amount of cash and medication. The resident had left the property unsecured.

Theft from a motor vehicle:

Overnight on Friday 1st a car parked on Ladybrook Lane was entered and a sat-nav and CDs taken. There was no sign of forced entry.

In the early hours of Sunday morning the wing mirrors of four cars parked on Mount Street were kicked off. On the same morning a group of juveniles were seen running down Westfield Lane kicking parked vehicles as they went by them.

Cumberlands

Criminal damage to a motor vehicle:

Overnight on Wednesday both wing mirrors were smashed off of a vehicle parked on Armstrong Road.

Eakring

Theft from a motor vehicle:

A van parked on Normanton Drive was entered after a window was smashed. A number of tools were taken from the vehicle.

Criminal damage to a motor vehicle:

On Friday morning the front and rear windscreen wipers of a car parked on Hamilton Street were bent over.

Grange Farm

Burglary other than dwelling:

A garage on Arran Square was broken into overnight on Friday, the garage was empty. Tools used by the offenders were found at the scene.

Theft from a motor vehicle:

A car left insecure on Bonington Road was entered in the early hours of Saturday morning. A mobile phone was stolen from the vehicle.

Ladybrook

Criminal damage to a motor vehicle:

Overnight on Saturday the wing mirror and the front light of a car parked on Layton Avenue were kicked off.

Leeming

Theft from a motor vehicle:

Overnight on Monday a car parked on Harby Avenue was entered and a TomTom satnav stolen, there was no sign of forced entry.

In the early hours of Saturday morning the window of a car, parked behind a locked gate on Peafield Lane, was smashed.

Overnight on Monday the tyres of a vehicle parked on Ashwell Avenue were slashed.

Lindhurst

Burglary dwelling:

On Monday evening a house on Southwell Road East was entered via a bedroom window and an untidy search made of the room.

Theft from a motor vehicle:

Overnight on Thursday 1st a car parked on Bradmore Court was broken into and a sat-nav and dashcam stolen. A window was smashed to gain entry.

Overnight on Saturday a car parked in a lay-by on Colston Road was broken into after offenders smashed two windows in the vehicle, two CD cases were stolen. On the same night the passenger window of a car parked on Barton Court was smashed, a satnav, loose change and a radio were taken.

Oak Tree

Theft from a motor vehicle:

On Monday evening the window of a car parked in a car park on Briar Lane was smashed, children’s games and books were taken from the vehicle.

Overnight on Monday a car parked on Wharfedale Gardens was entered and a purse containing cards, a passport, clothes and a dashcam were taken. On the same night a car parked on Bramble Lane was also entered, a dashcam, loose change and two satnavs were taken. There was no sign of forced entry in either incident.

Criminal damage to a motor vehicle:

On the evening of Thursday 1st a beer bottle was thrown through the window of a car on Barrow Hill Walk.

Pleasley Hill

Burglary dwelling:

A room in a shared accommodation building on Derby Street was broken into by a known offender.

Theft from a motor vehicle:

Overnight on Tuesday the window of a car parked on Mandalay Road was forced open, nothing was taken.

Overnight on Wednesday the front license plate of a car parked on Newport Crescent was stolen.

Portland

Burglary dwelling:

On Monday afternoon a resident of the YMCA on Commercial Gate reported that her mobile phone had been stolen from a room within the premises.

Over the weekend a car parked on High Oakham Road was entered by unknown means, cash and a watch were taken.

Criminal damage to a motor vehicle:

Overnight on Wednesday a car parked on Broxtowe Drive was damaged, there were footprints on the bonnet and the front windscreen was smashed.

On Wednesday evening the windscreen of a car parked on Broxtowe Drive was smashed by a named suspect.

Priory

Theft from a motor vehicle:

On Friday afternoon an unlocked car parked on Leeming Lane South was entered. Gloves, a hammer and a dashcam were taken.

At 05:30 on Saturday morning CCTV captured images of an unidentified offender entering an unlocked vehicle on Stainforth Street. A remote controlled car was stolen from the vehicle.

Criminal damage to a motor vehicle:

Overnight on Tuesday a car parked on Burns Avenue was deliberately scratched along one side.

Ravensdale

Burglary other than dwelling:

On Friday evening an intruder was disturbed in a garden on Terrace Road, nothing was taken from the property.

On Saturday morning a resident of Terrace Road left the front door unlocked. The house was entered and a jewellery box stolen.

Robin Hood

Burglary dwelling:

On Wednesday afternoon two white male offenders carried out a distraction burglary at the home of an elderly resident of Park Hall Gardens. One male stated that a roof tile needed replacing and took her outside to show her, while he was talking about this a second male entered the house and stole cash from a purse, which was on the sofa.

Town Centre

Theft from a motor vehicle:

On Wednesday afternoon the window of a car parked on Church Side was smashed with a brick and a mobile phone was stolen from the vehicle.
