The Government wants everyone in England to have access to online healthcare services and many GP practices in Mansfield are introducing electronic prescriptions, which will give patients new choices as to where and how they get their prescriptions dispensed.

A free NHS repeat prescription service from Pharmacy2U is one of the ‘e-services’ being made available to local patients following the electronic prescription switch-on. It allows patients to order their medication online or by phone and includes a reminder service to help people avoid running out of important medications. Users benefit from free delivery to any UK address.

An independent survey revealed that 70% of people in the East Midlands would like to manage their healthcare online. Pharmacist, Dr Julian Harrison of Pharmacy2U, said: “The Government set a target for all patients in England to be offered digital services by 2015 and there is a clear appetite for it.” For more information, visit: www.pharmacy2u.co.uk/nhs.
