Mansfield and Ashfield: Book to mark miners’ strike
A book on the Nottinghamshire Miners and the 1984-85 Miners’ Strike is being launched next month to coincide with the 30th anniversary of its start in March 1984.
It is based on author Dr David Amos’ PhD submission to the University of Nottingham which forms Volume Four of a History of the Nottinghamshire Mining Unions (1980–1985).
A launch event will take place at the DH Lawrence Heritage Centre, Eastwood, on Saturday 15th February 2014 from 11am to 2pm.
There will be a small coal mining heritage display and tea, coffee and light refreshments will be available for purchase.
