Luke Fisher, 26, formerly of Deepdale Court, Sutton in Ashfield, was today (Friday, October 28) found guilty of rape at Nottingham Crown Court.

The court heard that Fisher had befriended the 16-year-old and in January last year bombarded her with text messages to meet him.

When she agreed, he took her to his flat and when she said no to his sexual advances and repeatedly told him to stop, he ignored her.

Fisher will have to sign the sex offenders register for life.

DC Stuart Barson said: “Fisher is a man who simply wouldn’t take no for an answer and did not respect the wishes of this girl. The victim in this case has shown immense bravery and I hope the sentence handed to Fisher today sends a clear message that if someone does not consent to sex, it is rape and there will be serious consequences.”
