A MANSFIELD man has been given a suspended jail sentence after stealing his housemate’s motorcycle.
Magistrates at the town’s court were told how on 23rd April Adam Garfoot (22) entered the bedroom of his housemate uninvited and stole motorbike clothes, including helmet.
But the machine itself had no fuel so he wheeled it a short distance from the Vernon Road property where he lived and dumped it.
Andrew Bostock, defending, said Garfoot deserved full credit for pleading guilty early to burglary, taking the vehicles without consent, driving without insurance, driving without a licence and drink driving.
Garfoot was given a 26-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months.
