Man rescued after car crashes into field in Ollerton

Firefighters rescued a man from a car after it left the road and ended up in a field.

The crash happened on the A614 at Ollerton at about 11.15am on Wednesday.

Crews from Edwinstowe and Warsop used specialist equipment to rescue the man.

Station manager John Kitchener, who was one of Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service's officers on the scene, said: "Upon arrival crews found that the vehicle had left the road and ended up in a field.

"The car was still on four wheels but the side had to be removed to allow the gentleman to be safely rescued.

"He was then left in the hands of East Midlands Ambulance Service and taken to hospital."

The incident had been dealt with by about 12.20pm.
