Man hits wife in face during pub argument

An Edwinstowe man has been given a 12-month community order after admitting punching his estranged wife in the face following an argument.

Dennis Quinn, prosecuting, told Mansfield magistrates how on 30th March Martin Malone, of Henton Road, struck his ex-partner while with mutual friends at an anniversary social event at the Plough pub in the village.

He became angry after reading an email relating to a dating site his victim was registered with which had been sent to his smart phone.
