Man given community order after engaging in sexual activity with 13-year-old girl

A 20-year-old Warsop man has been given a three-year community order after admitting two offences of sexual activity with a 13-year-old girl.

Daniel Cooper, of Birch Street, Church Warsop, committed the offences on August 31 last year.

Nottingham Crown Court heard that Cooper, who was 19 at the time, was fully aware the girl was under the age of legal sexual consent.

He pleaded guilty to the offences on 5 December and was sentenced today (Friday, January 26).

Cooper was ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and was made the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention order for ten years.

He was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for five years and pay £250 court costs, as well a ordered to complete a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement for 35 hours.
