Man arrested over fatal Sutton shooting

A MAN has been arrested for a second time in connection with the murder of a father-of-two who died after being shot outside his Sutton home more than eight years ago.

David Draycott was shot a number of times on Monday 7 October 2002 in Woodlands Way, Sutton in Ashfield. The 40-year-old died in hospital a few days later.

A 54-year-old man, who is originally from the Basford area, was arrested at HMP Whitemoor on Tuesday and taken to a police station in Nottingham for questioning.

It follows his arrest on suspicion of Mr Draycott’s murder in December last year.

He was released on bail in connection with the killing and returned to prison yesterday.
