Man arrested after Mansfield road closure

A man has been arrested after a Mansfield road was closed for five hours over concerns for a person's safety.

On Thursday, December 14 the A617 closed near Rainworth between Southwell Road West and Kirklington Road was closed but the road has now been reopened and a man has been arrested.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: “A man has been arrested in connection with the incident which reached a safe conclusion at around 6.15pm and no injuries have been reported.”

The closure which started at 12.45pm caused a queue to form on the B0620 through Rainworth village and at the roundabout at the A617.
