Man arrested after cyclist dies in Sutton collision

A man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after cyclist died in a Sutton collision.

Station Road in Sutton, close to the junction of the A38 was closed in both directions due to the crash which took place at around 2pm on Wednesday August 9.

A 23-year-old man died at the scene and a 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Police are investigating the incident.

A spokesman from Nottinghamshire Police said:“Officers attended a collision between a car and a cyclist. Sadly, a 23-year-old man died at the scene. An investigation has been launched to establish the cause of the incident.
“Station Road remained closed in both directions at the junction with the A38 for some time to allow officers to make inquiries. We would like to thank the public for their understanding in this matter.
“A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been released under investigation.
