Man accused of beating and raping a woman to face trial
A Harworth man charged with beating up and raping a woman will face trial in the new year.
Scott Southall, 28, of Rutland Crescent is accused of attacking the female in September.
Already in custody, he appeared before Nottingham Crown Court today, Tuesday December 8, where he pleaded not guilty to rape, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and false imprisonment, all relating to the same woman. She cannot be named for legal reasons.
He was remanded in custody with his trial set to start on February 29 next year.
It is expected that the trial will last between two and three days.
