Thomas Caunt, 22, was found dead at the bottom of High Tor on Monday, an inquest heard this afternoon.
Chesterfield Coroners Court heard that James, of King Street, Huthwaite, was found deceased at 10.20am.
His mother, Dianne, identified her son’s body later that day at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
Assistant coroner James Newman said he would commission a post-mortem report, as well as a police sudden death report.

The inquest was opened and adjourned.
The case will be reviewed on February 21.
