Lucky lady lands £20,000 at Mansfield bingo hall

The numbers came up for a lucky lady who scooped a national £20,000 prize at a Mansfield bingo hall.

Jacqueline Myatt, 41, from Southwell, took home the jaw-dropping amount from Apollo, on Mansfield Leisure Park, but was initially happy to win the £135 club prize on the 39th number called.

But the news then came through from the National Bingo Game HQ that Mansfield had landed the big prize with the lowest number of calls across the whole of the UK .

A winner’s party was recently held at the club where a cheque was presented to Jacqueline .

Jon Nellist, general Manager at Apollo Mansfield said: “We love celebrating big wins in our club and so do our customers.

“They gave a big cheer when the news was announced. Our congratulations go to Jacqueline.”

Mansfield has proved a lucky hunting ground for bingo players in the past year with several big winners.

In February, a first-time player picked up £25,000 after enjoying the lowest numbers called in the UK, making him the eighth player in 12 months to have landed at least £20,000.

This has continued, according to Mark Jepp, managing director of Majestic Bingo Clubs Ltd, which owns the Apollo, who said £110,00 has been scooped so far this year.

“In terms of big wins on the National Game in 2016, Mansfield are leading the way with the most won across our
estate.”
