A taxi driver has their Mansfield license revoked after making homophobic comments to a member of staff at Mansfield District Council.
The driver did not appeal against the revocation, and now continues to drive in Mansfield, but under a Bolsover badge.
The Deregulation Act 2015 lead to private-hire drivers no longer having to live or operate in the local authority area that grants his or her licence.
Jacqueline Collins, Director of Governance at Mansfield District Council, said: "Public safety is of paramount importance and Mansfield District Council will always seek to take appropriate action against any taxi drivers who do not adhere to the high standards required by legislation and policy."
A spokeswoman for Bolsover District Council said : “Mansfield District Council have made us aware of their actions involving the individual concerned.
"We are carrying out investigations in line with our own policies and procedures.
"Consideration will be given at all stages as to whether the individual remains a fit and proper person to hold a licence.
"We cannot comment further while this process is ongoing.
"The safety of people hiring a taxi must always be our first concern.”
