Mansfield District Council has launched its annual Summer in the Streets programme of free family fun.
This year, the summer long beach party is the focus of the programme of free family entertainment.
Throughout the six-week summer holiday there will be plenty to see and do in Mansfield Market Place.
Following on from last year’s success, the beach party will be returning for a full five weeks. With a giant sand play area and family fairground rides, the market place will be transformed. Look out for special dates when additional entertainers will be in town.
The biggest event of the programme is Party in the Park at Titchfield Park on Saturday 6th August. This year it features Gareth Gates with support from Beth McCann’s professional ‘Best of the Brits’ tribute act and a line up of local bands and singers.
The event opens at 12noon and closes at 9pm and also features children’s entertainment including fairground rides, crazy golf, archery, donkey rides and face painting.
Emma Sowter, Mansfield District Council’s Events and Promotions Co-ordinator, said: “We’re really looking forward to this year’s programme of events which we hope will really bring the seaside fun into the heart of Mansfield. It will be a real treat for all the family and of course, it’s free”
