A-LEVEL RESULTS: West Notts College students celebrate “incredibly rewarding” grades
Just under half of the results achieved were A*-B grades, while more than three quarters were A*-C grades.
And 14 out of the 18 subjects at the college received 100 per cent pass rates.

Hide AdSome students were in tears of joy after collecting their results and many of them said they were still in shock.
Lindsay Hill, 18, from Mansfield, achieved three A* grades in English language, psychology and history, and an A grade in the extended project qualification. The grades have secured her place at the University of Leeds to study history.
She said: “I didn’t think it was actually possible for me to do that well, especially to study a subject like history.
“It was such a relief to get into uni.”
Callum Lack, 18, from Mansfield Woodhouse, got three A grades in maths, accounting and ICT - landing him a spot at the University of York to study accounting, finance and management.
He said: “I still can’t believe it.

Hide Ad“I couldn’t sleep last night thinking about it and I kept checking on the UCAS website until I found out I had got in!”
His proud mum, Tracey Morley, cried when she found out, and described the results as “amazing”,
Rachel Davison, 18, from Mansfield, said she was “glad to have gone through it all” after she received two A grades in history and English and a B in psychology.
She said: “I felt quite nervous before, but now I’m over the moon.”

Hide AdRachel is taking a gap year to get work experience before going on to university.
Mum and mature student, Joanna Smith, 33, from Huthwaite, was pleased to have got into the University of Derby to study a foundation degree in geography and environmental hazards.
After a rollercoaster of a year, with the death of her father half way through, she still managed to secure a place.
She said: “My grades could have been better, but I still got a place. I’m not a quitter!”

Hide AdCharlotte Swindells, 18, from Jacksdale, received two A grades and two B grades that have bagged her a place studying broadcast journalist at Nottingham Trent University.
She said: “I’m so happy!
“I’ve got into my first choice I just can’t believe it.”
The college opened it’s doors at 8am to give students the earliest possible opportunity to collect their results and also provided them with breakfast foods and drinks.
They were also given access to computers and telephones to contact UCAS (Universities and College Admissions Service) and college staff were available to offer support and advice.
