LETTER: Money would be better spent on recycling solutions

I need to take councillor Tim Brown (portfolio holder for the environment), to task on his statement that if you have a medical need or a large family, you are given a larger bin.

This is not the case you are given two of the smaller red-lidded bins. We now have two red bins, two garden waste bins, (we already had one), a green bin and a glass bin. That makes five bins in total.

Half the stuff in the red bin is recyclable but our district doesn’t recycle these items as they say it is too expensive. The £1.4million would have been better spent on ways to recycle items that presently go into land fill.
