LETTER: Good sportsmanship from Adam and team

I would like to pay tribute to Mansfield Town Football Club, its supporters and impressive manager Adam Murray on their sportsmanship, conduct and good grace at Plymouth Argyle on February 13.

I am a Plymouth Argyle supporter who now resides in New Ollerton, but I read with absolute pride the comments made by Mr Murray after his team were beaten 3-0.

Instead of making excuses for his side losing, he praised Argyle on our victory and thought we were one of the best teams Mansfield had played this season. So many managers are cynical in defeat but not yours.
I didn’t attend the game unfortunately, but friends who did go have told me the Stags fans were friendly, polite and gracious in defeat.

I was at Mansfield earlier in the season when we drew 0-0 and enjoyed some excellent good-natured banter with a great band of Stags fans.
You went to Plymouth and gave it a right go and have impressed the green army, good luck to Mansfield Town, I so hope we meet each other in

League One next season.
