Langwith takeaway driver robbed in ‘hit and grab’ attack

Police are appealing for witnesses to the robbery of a takeaway delivery driver in Langwith.

The offence happened on New Scott Street in the town at about 11.30pm on Thursday August 29 when the 19-year-old victim tried to deliver a food order.

He was approached from behind and grabbed by a man he describes as being 6ft 5ins tall.

The assailant took the bag of food and he, and three other people who were with him, ran off onto the nearby cricket pitch and out of sight.

The victim wasn’t injured but was shocked by the incident.

The suspect was wearing a baggy black hoodie or baseball jacket, gloves and a woollen balaclava. His three accomplices also had their faces covered.
