Knife-wielding robber arrested in Sutton by armed police after five separate crimes in 37 minutes

A man has been arrested in connection with five crimes, three of them armed robberies, in the space of 40 minutes in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

Police were called yesterday evening to reports of:

- knife-point robbery at a shop in Leamington Drive at 5.23pm

- knife-point robbery at a shop in Church Street at 5.45pm

- attempted theft of a motorbike in Willowbridge Lane at 5.52pm

- knife-point robbery in Hill Top View at 5.59pm

- criminal damage at the allotments in Calladine Close at 6pm

The 28-year-old man was arrested by armed officers in the Blue Bell Wood area directly after the last incident and remains in police custody.
