A KIRKBY woman is appealing for local residents’ support as she bids to win a competition to become the face of an American meat snack brand.
Tillie Thompson (27) is one of more than 110 girls from throughout Europe who are vying to become the face of Jack Link’s, the world’s number one authentic American meat snack brand.
The girl with the highest number of votes will win the competition and will then see her face used to promote the beef jerky brand across the continent.
Tillie said: “It’s massive in America so I thought why not be the face of something up and coming in Europe?
“I would love to be the face of it.”
The winner also receives a holiday for two worth £3,000, a photo shoot and a life-size photo cut-out of themselves and Tillie, who has three jobs, said that the holiday would be a welcome break.
As well as working full time at the E.ON contact centre in Nottingham, Tillie runs her own hair extension business and is a pit lane girl for Honda Racing in the British Touring Cars Championship.
This has taken her around the country and to glamorous destinations like Le Mans, giving her the chance to meet celebrities including Formula One drivers.
She said: “I always liked my motorbikes and my cars and knew a bit more about them than the average girl.
“I was at a car show when a woman came up to me and asked me if I worked in promotions and to send her a photograph.”
Tillie did that and was snapped up by Honda, where her duties as a pit lane girl include greeting hospitality guests and fans and going onto the track to show drivers where on the grid they need to start.
Now Tillie is urging Ashfield residents to get behind her and help her win the Jack Link’s competition.
“With the help and support of local people, it would be nice to see someone local achieve something like this,” she said.
The winner will be announced on 10th October.
