A shop lifter from Kirkby has been sentenced to six months in prison.
Sean Vince, 28, was charged with theft on 18th June after being arrested for stealing clothing and electrical items from B&Q in Sutton.
Vince, of Rosewood Drive, had taken goods worth £164.90 and left the store without paying.
Appearing before Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on 19th June he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 24 weeks in prison.
PC Georgina Bailey, of the Integrated Offender Management Unit, said: “Vince was arrested under our ongoing operation to crack down on retail crime in Mansfield and Ashfield.
“I hope this sentence sends out the message that we will continue to pursue shoplifters and repeat offenders until they are brought to justice.”
