Four fire engines - two from Ashfield station and one each from Blidworth and Hucknall - attended the blaze at the former Lowmoor Inn on Lowmoor Road, as did the aerial ladder platform from Mansfield.

The call to the fire brigade came in just before 9pm and the fire was found to have started in the roof space of the derelict building.

The fire service confirmed that the building has been severely damaged by the fire.

There were no injuries but the fire service could not confirm how the fire has started at this time.
