Kirkby-in-Ashfield: Man has life threatening injuries after he was hit by a lorry

A 27-year-old man was hit by a lorry in the early hours of this morning (Friday 20th February) and is being treated for life threatening injuries.

Notts Police are appealing for information after a crash between a lorry and a pedestrian on the A611 Derby Road at Kirkby-in-Ashfield, near to the Hollinwell Golf Club, just before 3.15am.

A man was taken to Nottingham’s Queens Medical Centre, where he is being treated for life threatening injuries.

The road remains closed in both directions between Shoulder of Mutton Hill and Diamond Avenue while police Forensic Crash Investigators continue their enquiries and recovery takes place.

The road is expected to re-open early this afternoon.
