A Kirkby girl has one and only chance of becoming crowned Miss England before she ties the knot to her soldier fiance.

Jade Hunt is hoping to make her dream a reality by becoming Miss England but winners have to be unmarried - so this is her only shot.

Romantic Sam Ancliff, also of Kirkby, proposed to his girlfriend after being deployed from Afghanistan in December 2013.

But plans to wed are on hold while Jade nears closer to fulfilling her ambition of becoming Miss England.

The 19-year-old former Ashfield School pupil has made it through several tough stages and is one step away from making it to the semi finals.

She said: “I am so excited I have got to this stage. It would be a dream to win.”

Jade had always wanted to get into modelling but has only recently found her inner confidence.

She said: “I started work and that gave me a real boost in confidence as I was meeting new people.” The teenager works as an administrator at Coldharbour Marine, Linby.

Her fiance - and number one fan, Sam Ancliff, said she has what it takes to become Miss England.

He said: “She has got an innocent confidence. That is what the judges are looking for, someone who is cute, sweet and has something to say. She ticks all the boxes in my eyes.”

The couple are asking for the community’s support in making her dream come true by voting for her on social media sites - as this can secure her a place in the semi-final.
