A CHARITY New Year’s Eve dance night will take place in Kirkby.

The festive event has been organised by Sutton-based Venus Sound and will take place at Kirkby’s Bentinck Club on Sutton Road.

It starts at 7.30pm and runs until 2am and there will be classic soul and Motown tracks, along with party favourites from the 1960s, ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s and the last decade..

The event has been organised to raise funds for Yeoman Park Special School in Mansfield Woodhouse and for youngster Jacob Brentnall, who lives in Annesley.

Little Jacob, who is five-years-old, suffers from Sanfilippo syndrome, an incurable, hereditary disorder which leads to disability.

Jacob is now a pupil at Yeoman Park and the funds raised will help improve the quality of life for him and his school mates.

There will be a raffle held on the night, with a host of prizes, which have been donated by members of the community and businesses.

Tickets for the disco are priced at £6 in advance or £7 on the door. For more details call 07813320275. Alternatively, anyone interested can pop into Venus En
