Kerb crawlers reported near Mansfield school

Parents have been urged to be extra vigilant over the school holidays as Police investigate a report of a suspicious vehicle seen close to a Mansfield school.

The force was called after two Intake Farm Primary School pupils reported seeing two men in a silver vehicle driving slowly in Ladybrook Lane.

It is thought to have happened at about 8.30am on Tuesday 22nd July.

Nothing was said to the girls and the car did not stop.

Officers and Police Community Support Officers attended the school to speak to pupils and carried out additional patrols.

Headteacher of Intake Farm Primary School, Julian Fieldwick, said in a letter to parents: “I am writing in order to urge parents and carers to be extra vigilant over the summer holidays.

He added: “One of the men was white and the other was possibly of Asian or Afro Caribbean descent and was older.

“The children responded exactly as we have told them and came straight into school to tell an adult.

“We will continue to reinforce the message of stranger danger in assemblies.

“I thought you needed to be made aware of this incident, especially with the long summer holidays ahead of us.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers.
