Keeping warm this winter, OAP advice

A ‘Keeping Warm This Winter’ booklet has been produced after Government figures revealed that last year there were 660 excess winter deaths in Nottinghamshire as a result of poorly insulated homes.

OFTEC, the trade body for oil heating, has teamed up with Age UK to provide advice which can be downloaded at www.oilsave.org

Caroline Abrahams of Age UK said: “A dangerous combination of high energy costs and poorly insulated homes is leaving around a million older people struggling to keep warm every winter. Those living in rural areas are at even greater risk because so many properties are poorly insulated.”
