A clothes shop in Annesley Woodhouse marked its expansion with a fundraising day, raising £1,300 for tiny cancer victim Dawson Willcock.
Katherine (Kat) Lichaj, wife of Nottingham Forest player and American international Eric Lichaj, relaunched her fashion outlet Katwalk Kouture on Forest Road, Annesley Woodhouse, on Sunday.
Kat, 27, has been busy expanding the business which she started in November last year.
The shop sells ladies’ and children’s affordable fashion and is going from strength to strength.
She said:”We have extended the shop into the flat behind as we needed more room. We asked to change the use from residential to business and took the wall out.
“Today we are opening to welcome the community into our shop and we are raising money for a very good cause.”
As shoppers browsed for bargains local businesses chipped in to give the event a carnival atmosphere.
Kat added: “Everyone had been really great, Sauce and Brown fashion boutique opened specially on a Sunday, the WMC next door opened up and let us put the bouncy castle up.”
Barlow’s butchers and Bistro provided free food with donations paid going to Dawson’s appeal and a disco was banging out tunes in the back yard.
The event was also attended by Miss Mansfield Chloe-Rose Adkin.
Mum-of-two Kat married Forest right-back Lichaj in 2013,
A former manager for NEXT, she started the business at their home, selling prom dresses online. Eric was due to join the relaunch after a training session prior to this week’s Championship with Barnsley
She said: “Eric loves the shop – he’s helped me to paint it and convert it. He’s glad we have got all the dresses out of the house . The room they were in is now used as his ‘man cave’.
Meanwhile, an auction on the Katwalk Kouture Facebook page for a box at Nottingham Forest has reached £1,600.
