Jobs boost at Mansfield fire doors firm


Future Products, based on Millenium Business Park, Mansfield, is one of the first manufacturers in the country to achieve the latest fire door requirements on its specialist composite doors.
An investigation of all fire doors was launched after a glazed, composite fire door from Grenfell Tower in Londn failed a 30-minute fire resistance test .

Hide AdComposite doors are now subject to rigorous testing standards, which many manufacturers are struggling to meet.
Future Products, however, was quick off the mark with meeting the standards.
Kevin Harvey, managing director, said: “Composite doors are widely used in public sector buildings, and as entrance doors.
“Previously, the doors were required to only be tested on one side, until the government decided all composite doors had to be tested on both sides.

Hide Ad“Our doors are a solid timber core doors, with a PVC skin bonded to the outside, making them extremely robust”.
“They are extra strong and meet the criteria, as we manufacture the entire product on our premises.
“Future are at the forefront of fire protection and public safety for composite door sets.”
In a boost to the economy, Future Products is also looking to recruit more staff to cope with demand.

Hide AdMr Harvey said: “This could mean a further 50 opportunities for jobs right across the board in the next 12 months.
“We have already started the recruitment process.”
The company already employs about 130 staff, and is looking for staff in all areas of the manufacturing process.
