Investigation launched as 'serious' property blaze in Mansfield is put out

A large house fire in Mansfield has been put out - but firefighters will remain on the scene as an investigation is launched.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service are at the scene of the fire on Ruddington Court, Bellamy Estate, today, Friday, November 30.

Residents are being asked to avoid the area at the time and the fire caused traffic delays.

A pet dog also died in the fire.

A Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "‘Firefighters from Hucknall, Arnold, Edwinstowe, Warsop, Worksop and Stapleford were called at 09:08am this morning (30 November) to a house fire on Ruddington Road in Mansfield.

"Crews used four breathing apparatus, two jets and two hose reels to extinguish the fire, which caused damage to the property.

"The fire is now out and crews are expected to remain on scene for some time while a fire investigation into the cause of the fire takes place."
