Interactive workshop to offer top tips on boosting profits

Two local firms of business advisors are combining skills and expertise to help business owners and senior managers understand more about maximising profits, retaining business value and protecting assets.

Hopkins Solicitors and Chartered Accountants McGregors Corporate are inviting a select number of business owners and senior managers to attend an interactive workshop.

The worksop will discuss key business issues such as how to reduce the amount of tax paid, value a business for sale or succession, plan for succession and develop an effective inheritance tax plan.

The workshop will be hosted by Philip Cudworth, director at McGregors Corporate, and Rob Siderfin, commercial caw partner at Hopkins.

They will also discuss how to manage relations with directors or shareholders to protect assets from future issues such as divorce, insolvency, commercial disputes, and how to go about finding the best advice to avoid paying your accountant or lawyer too much!

Rob Siderfin said: “Every successful business experiences highs and lows during its lifecycle.

“Highs are when profits are good and business is booming. Lows are when life events make assets and earnings vulnerable.

“As a business owner or senior manager, it is important to recognise and plan for both the highs and the lows.”

Philip Cudworth added: “We will open the workshop with examples of high profile cases where these issues have not been suitably prepared for or dealt with. The impact of these costly mistakes will set the scene for open discussion of the issues, audience experiences and how best to avoid them.”

The workshop is being held on Wednesday 18th September from 4pm to 6.30pm and will be hosted by Handelsbanken, at the offices at 12 Mansfield, Oakham Business Park, Mansfield.
