The refurbishment will see the ground floor transform into a digital hub for self-service for Mansfield District Council and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) customers.

The improved facilities on Chesterfield Road South will see council services, housing, Job Centre and DWP facilities in the same area.

The self-service points will give access to a range of services such updating council grant and benefit applications.

The revamp is set to begin on March 6 and last for ten weeks, in which the reception will be split into two to allow for the work to take place.

The work, which will see the Department for Work and Pensions move onto the ground floor, will cause disruption to some facilities.

Customers that need to use the Housing desk and Revenues and Benefits counter are encouraged to use the Chesterfield Road entrance, while a temporary reception for general enquiries will be set up on the car park entrance.

Sarah Troman, Director of Communities and Mansfield District Council, said: “We would like to thank our customers for their patience during the refurbishment.”

All DWP and Job Centre Plus services will open to the public on Monday, March 12.
