Idlewells ghost walk for Children in Need

An after dark ghost hunt is being held at Sutton’s Idlewells Shopping Centre on Saturday (16th November).

Organised by the The Ashfield Paranormal Investigation Team (TAPIT), it will run from 8.30pm until 2am.

The walkers will roam the malls after dark, tracing the route of the old streets of the Idlewells district, as well as visiting the eerie basement carpark.

Participants will find out about the Idlewells, and the people that lived in the area in the 19th Century before the shopping centre was built.

The ghost walk is being held in aid of the BBC Children In Need appeal and organisers of the walk hope to raise lots of money for the charity.

Andrew Wraight, Centre Manager at Idlewells Shopping Centre, said:“TAPIT and the Idlewells centre team have joined forces as they wanted to raise funds to support BBC Children In Need.

“We’re delighted to be able to put on another Ghost Walk around the centre; last year’s event was hugely popular so we’re really looking forward to learning more about the history of Idlewells and providing an exciting, spooky evening for local ghost enthusiasts.”

Idlewells Shopping Centre is rumoured to have its fair share of ghosts who are said to roam the centre, including Louisa Gregory who is perhaps the most famous of all the local spirits.

Louisa was a corpse collector, known as the Witch of Idlewells and legend has it that if Louisa knocked on your door, death was never far behind.

Will Louisa make an appearance this Saturday night? Curious spirit hunters can join in the ghost walk by registering with Paul at TAPIT either by email [email protected] or 07808 217469.

Tickets are £15 with all proceeds going to BBC Children In Need.
