It may be one of the hottest weeks of the year, but Mansfield District Council is already planning for winter.
An ice rink will be coming to Mansfield’s Market Place in December as part of an extension of the annual Christmas market. Mansfield District Council is also doubling the number of cabins to 20 and weeks from two to four.
The local authority has announced that the festivities that delighted visitors to the Market Place in December 2017 will return this year.
And Mayor Kate Allsop has confirmed that the celebrations will be bigger and longer.
Mrs Allsop said: “We’re bringing a fabulous ice rink to the Market Place in December to compliment and extend the Christmas Market.
“Last year, we trialled 10 cabins for two weeks .
“Following on from the success of that trial, we are now doubling the time the event runs and the amount of cabins.”
