Human bone found in Papplewick woodland

Police are investigating following the discovery of what is believed to be a human bone in woodland near Papplewick.

The discovery was made by a member of the public yesterday afternoon (Saturday 25th January) and officers have been conducting a search of the area, near the Burnt Stump, today.

Members of the public walking nearby reported seeing a lot of police activity, with police vehicles, police dogs and scenes of crime officers all spotted.

The bone is believed to be human but will be sent for forensics testing.
