Hucknall gym man faces five steriods charges

A 46-year-old man has been charged with offences relating to anabolic steroids and other drugs at a gym in Hucknall.

Andrew Morrison, of Sandy Lane, had his case adjourned at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday, where he is due to appear during the week beginning Monday 16th June for trial.

Morrison faces five charges after he was arrested at the Muscle Gym Factory at Alexandra House, Watnall Road on Wednesday 13th November last year.

The main charge accuses him of having in his possession a large selection of different anabolic steroids, worth a total of £9,048, with intent to supply.

Morrison is also charged with acquiring, using or having in his possession criminal property worth £7,338, contrary to the Proceeds Of Crime Act 2002.

Two other charges relate to the possession of prescription-only medicine -- namely 180 tablets of tamoxifen and 370 tablets of sildenafil.

Tamoxifen is a hormonal therapy normally used to treat breast cancer. However, it has been linked to bodybulding for many years.

Sildenafil is a drug used to treat erectile dysfunction and is contained within Viagra tablets.

Morrison also faces a fifth charge of possessing a business material bearing a sign identical to, or likely to be mistaken for, a registered trade mark, namely Cialis, with a view to using it for advertising goods. Cialis tablets are used to treat erectile dysfunction.
