Hucknall bike death dad inquest

David Neil Bacon, aged 58, was returning home after a day at a Chesterfield bike show when tragedy struck on June 16 last year.

The married father of two was just over a mile from home when he was involved in a collision with a car on the A611 between Annesley and Hucknall.

Mr Bacon died at the scene when his blue Yamaha motorbike was in collision with a silver Kia Venga car.

The crash happened at around 2.50pm near the exit for Newstead.

A female passenger in the Kia was taken to Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre with minor injuries. No one else was injured.

An inquest which opened in June heard that the cause of death was recorded as multiple injuries.

Coroner for Nottinghamshire, Mairin Casey, heard a postmortem examination had revealed that he had torn one of the main pulmonary arteries close to the heart.

Thee coroner heard he had no alcohol or drugs in his blood stream.

Mr Bacon was a self-employed coffee machine engineer, who loved motorcycles and model flying in his spare time.

He was a keen biker and a member of Goosedale Model Flying Club, based in Goosedale Lane, Bestwood Village.
