Police were called to Spot On Snooker Club, in Vine Terrace, at 2.20pm yesterday (Thursday 13th March) following a report of a man acting suspiciously.

Further enquiries led officers to believe he may have been in possession of a gun.

Police negotiators worked throughout the afternoon and evening before armed officers entered the premises at around 1.40am bringing the incident to an end.

Two women, who had been hiding in the building throughout, were guided to safety by officers at around 8.40pm. They were distressed by their ordeal but uninjured.
