Selected pubs in Mansfield and the surrounding area are offering a free pint of beer to locals watching the World Cup.
The tournament kicks off on Thursday, and a number of pubs in the area will be giving away free pints of a limited edition beer which has been created with sporting legend and TV personality Chris 'Kammy' Kamara.
A free pint of the beer, named Un-BEER-lievable, will be available to anyone who watches the football at selected pubs and downloads the new, free Greene King Season Ticket app. The app also gives footy fans access to ten per cent off drinks an hour before, during and an hour after sports matches at 800 Greene King Season Ticket pubs across the country.
Participating pubs include the Badger Box, Derby Road, Kirkby; The Bold Forester in Mansfield; The Oak Tree in Mansfield and the Talbot Inn in Mansfield.
Dennis Gill, general manager at The Badger Box, said: “With a packed summer of sport to enjoy, it’s the perfect time to gather your mates together for a night at the pub. This year though, we’re giving locals an extra reason to swap their sofa spectating for the unbeatable atmosphere of the pub – with a pint of beer they didn’t have to pay for!
“We’re looking forward to kicking off the celebrations here in Kirkby and taking the opportunity to enjoy a pint of beer brewed by a footballing ledgend. We know this summer of sport is going to be the best one yet – whatever the results!”
To claim a free pint, Kirkby-in-Ashfield locals must download the Greene King Season Ticket app from the App Store. Alternative complimentary drinks are available on request including, pints on draught, bottles and soft drinks .
