People with a disability are being invited to take part in a new survey to help local authorities plan suitable housing and facilities for their communities.
Bolsover District, Chesterfield Borough and North East Derbyshire District councils are running the Disabled People’s Housing Research in their areas, as part of a wider study across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
Telephone surveys are being carried out and people are also being encouraged to fill in the survey online at www.ecoryssurveys.com/disabledhousingneeds
Bolsover District Council’s Cabinet Member for Social Inclusion, Coun Ann Syrett said: “We want as many people with disabilities as possible to take part in this survey so we can make sure we get the right amount and type of accommodation in the right areas to meet the needs of disabled people.”
Councillor Betty Hill, North East Derbyshire’s Member with responsibility for Housing, said: “This research will look at households where there is at least one person who has a physical disability that might make it difficult to live in their home.
