Housing improvements contract will benefit Ashfield Homes tenants
Nottingham-based J Tomlinson will be replacing kitchens, bathrooms, central heating systems, windows and external doors on Ashfield Homes-owned properties over the next five years.
The work will ensure that living standards for tenants of Ashfield Homes - which manages Ashfield District Council’s 6,900 properties - will also get better.

Hide AdPaul Bingham, director of asset management at Ashfield Homes, said: “This contract is a great opportunity to continue enhancing our tenants’ living conditions, maintain the high standard of accommodation we offer, and ensure that our present and future customers enjoy the benefits of good quality housing for years to come.”
Under the terms of the contract, there is also scope for J Tomlinson to undertake other improvement works, including carbon and environmental efficiency saving measures.
Steve Kirkland, its managing director, said: “This is the largest single contract we have ever been awarded and will lead to the creation of up to 40 new jobs in the local area, and will provide work for at least 12 apprentices over the next five years.
“It is our intention to open a new base in the area to service this new contract, and we have also devised a programme of community involvement in association with Ashfield Homes, which will include offering apprenticeship and work experience opportunities, mentoring support, employment and training events, as well as school activities.”
