As a not for profit company, EEM reinvest the surplus it makes back into the communities it serves, a spokesman said.
The latest round of funding was announced at the consortium’s annual general meeting.
Managing director Pete Smith said: “Knowing the work we do not only helps organisations achieve affordable rent for tenants, but helps to invest in the communities they serve is a real achievement.”
Chair Shaun Bennet added: “It was great to see the real difference the grants made to local communities last year.”
