KING’S Mill Hospital bosses are appealing for businesses and Chad readers to donate a variety of items to help boost the coffers of our £750,000 MRI Scanner Appeal.
The unwanted items will then be sold by a team of volunteers during a variety of bric-a-brac events at King’s Mill Hospital in the coming weeks.
Chad has so far helped to raise nearly £10,000 since our massive fundraising campaign was launched to help the hospital purchase a brand new state-of-the-art MRI scanner, which will treat hundreds of thousands of patients across the district over the next seven years.
The community-boosting campaign has already attracted widespread support from businesses and individuals, with The Mint, Il Rosso, The King and Miller, Vision Express and Mansfield Town Football Club amongst the many to have already pledging their support.
Hospital charity workers are now urging Chad’s caring readers to come forward with books, games, toys, DVDs and any other unwanted items to help make a massive difference.
Tracy Brassington, customer services manager at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We can do a lot of events in the coming weeks at the hospital, we just need items to sell.
“Sales like this are successful and we are sure that once we have got these items we will be able to raise a lot of money.
“This campaign is not just about people donating money. The public can help us in a number of ways and if people cannot spare money, they may be able to donate unwanted items for us to sell.
“The success of this campaign is all about the community and the support they can give us. People out there may want to do fundraising events of their own, which would be fantastic.
“The energy and enthusiasm of the volunteers for the MRI campaign has been excellent and that is just what we need. Every pound counts and we are grateful for any support that we receive from the public.”
Anyone wishing to donate items can do so by taking goods to the main reception at King’s Mill Hospital.
