Hospital patients, staff and visitors warned to plan ahead as Tour of Britain comes to Nottinghamshire

Patients, visitors and staff are being warned to allow extra time for their journey to hospital as the Tour of Britain arrives in Nottinghamshire this weekend.

The Ovo Energy sponsored event will be passing through the county on Saturday, before finishing in Mansfield at around 4pm.

Some roads will be closed, with rolling road blocks in force in other locations.

Chesterfield Road South will be closed all day from 5am to 8pm with diversions in place.

This is the route the Tour of Britain will take through NottinghamshireAnd the following roads will be closed for around an hour between 3pm and 4pm:

* Derby Road

* Nottingham Road

* Atkin Lane

* High Oakham Hill

* Sheepbridge Lane

* Sutton Road junction at Sir John Cockle

* Skegby Lane

* Beck Lane

* Abbott Road

* Rosemary Street.
