Hero punched after coming to victim’s rescue

A man was punched after coming to the rescue of a woman being attacked in a Kirkby-in-Ashfield lane.

The incident happened at around 5.35pm on Monday 28 April 2014 on a footpath through a field between Southwell Lane and the A38.

The man happened upon a woman, who was riding a disability scooter, being harassed by three men.

He approached and asked that they leave her alone. As he left the men followed him and punched him in the face and stomach.

Two of the men were white in their late teens or early 20s.

One was around 6ft tall and of stocky build. He was clean shaven with shaved blond hair and wearing a blue Adidas jumper with white stripes down the arms.

The other was just under 6ft tall and of slim build. He had short black hair was clean shaven and wearing a grey/brown jumper.
