THE Post Mill Centre in South Normanton is hosting a heritage day on 17th September, from 10am-4pm
It has been organised by the Pinxton and South Normanton Local History Society and will include photographs, displays, leaflets, presentations, maps, a local census from 1841, as well as documents including parish records from South Normanton and Pinxton from around 1566.
For the first time, there will also be a display of Pinxton porcelain and expert Norman Taylor will be on hand to give information and advice.
The event will be opened by Graham Oliver who is the new owner of Carnfield Hall in Alfreton. Mr Oliver, who is an animal orthopaedic surgeon with a practice in Hucknall, has lived at Carfield Hall since 1st April.
He plans to keep the hall as it is but wants to make improvements such as installing a biomass heating system.
